Old is Gold

The enormous roots of this old tree buttress out of the ground, and glow in the evening sunlight. With the tree surrounded by so many other trees, there was only a small opening in the tree cover on the west side. Depending on the time of the year, the Sun’s azimuth differs during sunset. So I had to wait few months for the Sun to be in the right spot, making its evening light pierce through the available opening, and created this image.

The warm golden glow on the roots create interesting patterns of light and shadows. Indeed, ‘Old is Gold’ is an apt title, both visually and figuratively!
